Born and raised in Ohio, Ashley had grown up a relatively normal yet eccentric young girl. Despite her relatively normal upbringing, however, her single mother was absent; often neglecting her daughter for male attention. This neglect combined with a lack of meaningful connections and entering a handful of failed relationships, brought her to turn to darker media as a coping mechanism. It was all the girl could do to fill the void in her soul.
One franchise, however, struck her like no other. Stab. She had grown particularly fascinated by its main character, Sidney Prescott. Having felt alone and helpless throughout her upbringing, she projected her desire for strength and connection onto Sidney’s heroic legacy; wishing she could embody her strength and perseverance.
As years drudged by, Ashley found herself inspired to study for a filmmaking degree in Windsor College. Right by her side had been her then-boyfriend; the tall, black-haired, and popular Emmett Grey. As the lead singer of a local alternative rock band, he had often turned to his girlfriend for support with recording live performances and music videos. Ashley, however, turned to Emmett for nothing.
One fateful day at Windsor College, however, caught the young woman completely off her guard. Crowds of people flooded into the hallways, pushing and shoving through one another. Ashley’s heart raced with anticipation as she fought for a glimpse of the spectacle.
A guest speaker?!
Famous basketball player?!
Celebri-?!
SIDNEY PRESCOTT?!
From what seemed like a mile away, Ashley’s jaw dropped to the floor. Her idol stood before her. Flesh and blood. Sidney’s here. The woman couldn’t believe her eyes. She had even reluctantly reached down to give her arm a little pinch.
”Emmett!! Emmett!!” Ashley shouted as she tugged her boyfriend’s flannel sleeve.
“Yuh?”
“You’re seeing this, too, right?!
“Oh, the chick from those Stab movies?”
“Yes, Emmett!!” Ashley cried, her voice hushed. “This seriously isn’t a big deal to you?”
“I mean, not rully.. Chick’s been through a lot of stuff. And there’s a movie. Like, what about it?!”
Ashley groaned and mumbled a slew of curse words before storming into the distance, leaving her boyfriend amidst the crowd. Emmett simply shrugged before continuing about his life.
As Ashley lay on her bed while staring at the ceiling, images of her idol flashed through her mind. Sidney’s roommate. Sidney’s boyfriend. A deep sigh pushed itself from deep within her lungs.
There’s no way she’d ever notice me… Not like this.
Just then, an idea popped into her mind. A bloody, violent, wonderful idea.
Genius!! If only…
As weeks passed by, Ashley’s (already hardly-existent) tolerance for sex with her boyfriend dwindled into nothing. Rather than assisting Emmett with his band-related needs, Ashley spent hours ravaging all of the newspapers for information, focusing in on every little detail of her favorite movies, and eyeing Sidney from a distance whenever the chance arose.
To Hell with Emmett.
It’s Sidney I desire.
