As one could probably guess, her story takes place after the first Scream, but in place of the second. Much of Ashley’s story revolves around her being a closeted lesbian with an unhinged love for the main character, Sidney Prescott. As anybody close to me knows, I LOVE yanderes. That’s exactly how I envision Ashley.

On the outside, Ashley appears to be a meek, introverted, and oh-so slightly eccentric young woman. Not exactly eccentric in the socially awkward, quirky way-much more in an unsettling and unusual way.

I envision Ashley as an innocent-looking blonde woman who oftentime wears her hair in a high and tight ponytail. I imagine that she would only need her hair down while in her Ghostface costume (to avoid creating a bump at the top of the hood and therefore giving her away). She regularly wears glasses that she does not need in order to lower the guard of unsuspecting people. That being said, Ashley’s style is that of your typical nerdy woman; midi skirts, plaids, and probably some turtlenecks.

As I mentioned in her story, she is in a relationship with a peer named Emmett Grey. Despite the fact that they are in a relationship, she is very dismissive and despondent. These traits become especially apparent as her as her obsession with Sidney deepens. I imagine Emmett as a very attractive man; six-foot-tall, dark hair, and brown eyes. He is highly desirable due to his role as the lead singer for a local alternative band. Her lack of desire for Emmett is supposed to further show how deep in denial Ashley is about her sexuality. She has the perfect boyfriend. Why doesn’t she want him? That being said, Emmett serves not only as a beard for her sexuality, but also as a cover-up for her Ghostface shenanigans. For instance, she could easily excuse being out late at night by either spending time with her boyfriend or attending his shows.

Ashley’s main motive for her murders is her twisted, toxic one-sided “love” for Sidney. Ever since she discovered that Sidney goes to the same college as her, she’s been nothing short of starstruck. Given Ashley’s nature, she wants Sidney’s attention more than anything. Ashley’s burning desire causes her to develop a deep hatred and jealousy toward the people in Sidney’s life as well as the masses that follow her.

As Ashley falls deeper into the pit of her own insanity, Sidney’s acquaintances begin to drop like flies. First her acquaintances, and then her friends.

I’m just really thirsty for a toxic, very very one-sided lesbian love.
