As I said in my “Why” section , the sort of haunted house/maze thingies really got me into Jason!! As of writing this, I am also attending one on Friday the 13th in March!! And I am even flying to Vegas to see it! Woot woot, so excited! I will add it ASAP.
In September of 2025, my sister announced to me that she wanted to take me to a Jason horror attraction! Since I originally only knew of Jason through Freddy Vs. Jason, I never really cared about him. I thought he was just your typical “always come back” paranormal zombie kind of guy like William Afton (no hate to William obviously lmao). I always thought Freddy was cooler since I grew up with A Nightmare on Elm Street aka my slasher gateway drug. I LOVED him (and still do!! I just need to rewatch the movies).
Anyways, when the time came around, I left feeling SO disappointed! The Jasons hardly jumpscared me at all. It infuriated me and I left so angry that I didn’t really get the whole experience. But then I pondered and asked myself…
If Jason was that lame, then why did I care so much?
I already loved Freddy Krueger and Ghostface at the time so I decided Hell with it-might as well watch his movies. I wanted to return to my slasher roots, anyways.
I binged the original four movies and FELL IN LOVE! I begged my sister to return. She caved in and we went through it two more times!!
These two experiences were the best EVER! During the first round, I wanted to just live in the moment-no pics, no anything. Almost every single Jason jumpscared me! I screamed out of joy and not fear, hahaha! Living the dream.
Anyways, I decided to take some pictures during my second time around! Just like the previous go, I got so many jumpscares and it was just as great! I also got some good pics!

One of the Jasons even remembered me and got extra close! You would not believe how hard I was fangirling! On our way out of the maze I shouted at the top of my lungs “HE WANTS ME!!” … Well, to be fair, I was also kind of drunk from a Jason beer they were selling hahaha. But he so absolutely did! I lived the dream.

Anyways, it was such a memorable experience and I will always hold it so close to my heart-just like Jason!
Near Thanksgiving, my Autism group announced that they were hosting a camp right by a lake! Since I was coincidentally super obsessed with Friday the 13th and just starting my fanfic, I really wanted to go! Obviously, I wanted to make friends and connect more with other members, too, but I was just too obsessed.
My Dad happily agreed to take me. He felt that the camping trip would be a great opportunity for me! And it was. :)
I will spare you the details of the entire trip, but it was so cool getting to experience something just like my favorite movies. Maybe it’s a bit of a silly comparison, but I felt just like I was at a real life Crystal Lake!
Late at night, I even explored the lake all alone. I really wanted to feel that spookiness for myself and by God I did! The eerinees scared me shitless so I just ran back into my cabin after about twenty minutes haha.
While searching for another camper, some of the supervisors stumbled across. They knew of my Jason obsession and put the pieces together. This was how I received my “Voorhees” nickname. Another guy calls me “Queen of Voorhees”.
They said I scared the hell out of them!
The next day, the supervisors hosted a talent show. I drew and colored this picture of Jason! I know that the coloring is a bit shoddy-we had limited resources. I love it nonetheless and am still super proud of it today. Everybody else loved it, too!

I plan on getting this framed. I have just been a little too lazy. ^^;
Not exclusively a Jason thing in of itself, but I came on Friday the 13th and did and saw some very Jason-y things!
First and foremost, I had a Crystal Lake Chai and Jason Donut! So on theme for him and such a way to commemorate and celebrate my man! I felt so joyous the entire time and they were both SO GOOD!

There was also just so much cool horror decor in general! I bought a cool tote bag and REEALLLYYYY wanted this painting...
I was so digging the yandere vibes here-painting was literally called "My Favorite Counselor ;)". I WANTED TO BE HER!! I wanted that picture on my wall real bad... Thing was, there would have been no real way to take it home and it was also $1,800. :(
I came here on Friday the 13th of March 2026! I had anticipated it for about four months in advance, maybe?? I was just so excited because I wanted an experience just like the first Jason horror maze/haunted house thingy I went to. It was Jason’s special day and I couldn’t wait! It was the sole reason my family and I flew to Vegas!
Somewhat unfortunately, though, they did include a bunch of other random slashers and original characters of theirs (mostly those scary clowns and stuff). I mean, at least Jason was going to be there and I had already bought the tickets so whatevs. ~
Anyways, once the time rolled around, I was so excited. I made friends with an older couple and we decided to group together. They were super sweet! Turned out they were local regulars and went all the time.
Once we walked in, I was genuinely kinda scared, but also giddy with excitement. If you know me, I love these kinds of things.
All of the characters were so cool!! I loved how interactive they were. We got scenes all to ourselves. Most notably with Ghostface, Freddy Krueger, and even Leatherface!! DUDE that was so cool! I was super excited to see Ghostface since they didn’t advertise him at all. I would say Leatherface’s moments were the coolest, though.
As for Jason, it was kind of … a real letdown. Let me explain: he only got a tiny little poorly decorated corner (opposed to Ghostface’s giant room, Leatherface’s chamber, Freddy’s cell, etc.), had poor acting, and didn’t even get the “ch-ch-ch-ch-ha-ha-ha-ha” sound. I was honestly really disappointed that they let my man down so bad on his own day.. :/ I really wanted him to chase and stalk me through, like, a forest or lake-themed room. I guess it’s on me for not previously considering that this was zombie Jason who doesn’t even run and has superpowers for some reason. All he did was either just stare at people or walk up to us and put his axe on our necks. Bummer I guess…
I guess he did kind of redeem himself, though! While he only stared at me the first time through, he did at least put his axe on my throat the second time around! What’s more is that, on my way out, I turned around, showed him my Jason shirt, and shouted “I LOVE YOU, JASON!!” After that, he walked up to me, put his axe back on my throat, and followed me out. I mean, as I said, it wasn’t exactly what I wanted, but it was still cool in its own way.
I did also get the blood pass so a lot of the other characters got a bunch of “blood” on me and/or exposed me to gore! Super awesome and immersive. I even got a tee shirt specifically for it which is now a favored souvenir. :)
I only got bloody the first time through because I specifically wanted to show Jason my shirt and also not be too dirty to Uber to the hotel.
Two of the characters also wrote on my forehead, haha!
While Jason himself was sort of disappointing, I would consider coming back for the other slashers if they ever host them again!
Don’t take my title too seriously! Some guys overheard me talking about my love for Jason with my friend and started a Jason vs. Michael Myers debate with me. Pretty lighthearted, but I still chuckle thinking about it. They really wanted to rub it in that Jason was mid as hell. SCREW EM! XD
