Turkey Vulture

Date Encountered: November 22, 2025

Notes: Saw these guys up in a tree while camping with my local Autism group! I was very curious about them because you hardly ever see big groups of large birds (I assumed they were hawks).

Black-Crowned Night Heron

Date Encountered: May 02, 2024

Notes: First saw these at a theme park! I thought it was so jarring to see such an exotic-looking bird there. What's even funnier is that they are not afraid to get close to humans whatsoever. I threw one a few scraps of meat last time! The species also has a very pretty name.
